Will our national leaders influence the state of the union via XBRL?
When I walked into work this morning, I was greeted by Seth Goldstein, Territory Account Manager, with the thought-provoking question:
Who’s your favorite president?
Over the past 100 years, since the election of Woodrow Wilson, we’ve seen 17 new presidents, an increase in US population of 216,622,564, the death rate drop to 5.7 per 1,000 people and the price of a stamp increase by $.43 (InfoGraphic by PBS). A lot has changed in the last century, but the biggest changes in my opinion are those categorized as technological innovations. I wanted to thank a few presidents, and their administrations, who’ve made technological progress a priority:
Dwight D. Eisenhower – Interstate Highway System
Richard Nixon – Green Technology via Clean Air Act and the EPA
Bill Clinton – National Information Infrastructure (advances in the internet – thank you, Al!)
When cheering for technology, it’s easy to push “political views” aside. My favorite presidents are those who pushed for new technology to make the world a better place. My next favorite president will likely be the one who approves the DATA Act.
Who is your favorite (techno) president? Comment below!

An outstanding share! I have just forwarded this onto a friend who has been conducting a little research on this. And he in fact bought me breakfast because I discovered it for him… lol. So allow me to reword this…. Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending time to talk about this topic here on your web site.
